You can search the register for information on retail permits and wholesale notifications for tobacco products, nicotine-containing liquids and smokeless nicotine products using three (3) search criteria: outlet name, licence number or business ID.
An outlet means a place where retail or wholesale sales of tobacco products, nicotine-containing liquids and/or smokeless nicotine products are conducted. You can enter the outlet name or part of it in the search field.
The licence number is a sequence of digits that identifies the holder of a retail sale permit or wholesale sales notification and the outlet. If an entrepreneur has multiple outlets, each outlet has its own licence number. The licence number consists of six digits and starts with "VL-" or "TI-" if the permit/notification was granted after 31 May 2024. The licence number consists of eight digits and starts with "71-" or "72-" if the permit/notification was granted before 31 May 2024. The number and prefix must be entered in full in the search field.
You may also use the entrepreneur's business ID as a search criterion. The business ID must be entered in full.
If the given search criterion yields matches, the register will list the search results. Clicking an outlet name opens detailed information for an individual retail sale permit or wholesale sales notification.
If you cannot find the retail sale permit or wholesale sales notification you are looking for in the register, it may be because the entrepreneur has ceased retail or wholesale sales or does not have a valid sales permit.
Tobacco products, nicotine-containing liquids and smokeless nicotine products may be sold or otherwise supplied at retail only on the basis of a retail sale permit granted by the municipality where the outlet is located. Wholesale sales of tobacco products, nicotine-containing liquids and smokeless nicotine products must be notified before sales begin. If you observe retail or wholesale sales of tobacco products, nicotine-containing liquids or smokeless nicotine products at an outlet without a valid sales permit or without the required wholesale sales notification, you should report it to the municipal authorities where the outlet is located to prevent illegal activity. In municipalities, the authority supervising sales of products subject to the Tobacco Act is the environmental healthcare authority.
